Every year around Easter time when Bilbies are busy hiding their eggs, Australia’s more than 100 KBA Guardians take a couple of hours to reflect on their amazing volunteer efforts to monitor, protect and advocate for ‘their’ KBA. The annual KBA Easter Health-check findings and the impressive volunteer work in some of Australia’s most important and most stunning places for wildlife are summarised in BirdLife’s annual State of Australia’s KBA reports.

Thank You! KBA Guardians for your passion, knowledge and dedication.

If you want to be part of the action as a KBA Guardian, never fear! With 334 KBAs in Australia there are still a few amazing areas looking for a Guardian. Please contact Golo Maurer, KBA@birdlife.org.au, or call 0467 444 114 in time for the 2021 KBA Health-check. You can start being a KBA Guardian even if you only have a few hours a year to spare and feel (like me) that you still can learn a lot more about the nature around you.
