Out now - State of Australia's KBAs 2020
The long-awaited bumper issue of Australia’s State of KBAs 2020 report has now been released. It was produced by Stephanie Todd and Ryan Kilgower and dives into the effects of the 2019/2020 Bushfires and the Birdata survey effort. The longer than usual lead for time for this report is partly explained by the fact that the work also contributed to a Book-chapter and a peer reviewed scientific paper. A great credit to the work of KBA Guardians! Thank you Birdata observers and KBA Guardians whose volunteer work has made this insight into Australia’s most important places for nature possible that is so important for shaping the conservation work of BirdLife (Australia and International), other NGOs and governments.
If you want to be part of the KBA effort as Guardian or volunteer please get in touch with kba@birdlife.org.au. Existing KBA Guardians can submit their 2022 Health-checks on the KBA portal; and a big Thank You to all KBA Guardians that have already done so this year!
